Amity Roses Amity Heritage Roses is a small family-run mail-order rose nursery located in Hydesville, California (North Coast). They sell antique, modern and miniature rose varieties grown on their own roots and shipped in pots of soilless media.

B and B Nursery and Propagators This nursery especializes with old garden roses and it is managed by Sherri Berglund. The roses grown outdoors and are sold as own-root in one gallon pots. Shipping: April 1-October 1.

Bridges Roses This is one of my favorite sources of new minis as well as old reliable miniature roses. I usually buy from Dennis and Suzy Bridges once per year in order to get their new varieties.

Bushnell Nursery in Granite Bay, California You want to see what roses are winning in rose shows? This is a site to visit and see what roses and who is winning in the Sacramento area for the past five years.

Capital Nurseries in Sacramento, CA This is one of my favorite general nursery in the Sacramento area. Ever since I moved to Orangevale, California, the Capital Nursery location in Sunrise and Madison Avenues has been my favorite (although occasionally I do wander to the Freeport Capital Nursery). Generally Capital Nursery is the nursery that I rely for most of my gardening needs.

COOL ROSES FOR SOUTHERN GARDENS is owned and operated by Consulting Rosarians Debbie and Geoff Coolidge. Their inventory consist of more than 150 varieties of modern, miniature, minifloras, and old garden roses. Their plants are sold either on their own roots or budded onto fortuniana rootstock. They ship year 'round.

Heirloom Roses This nursery is owned by Louise Clements and and her late husband John. Is located in St Paul, Oregun about 30 miles Southeast of Portland. This is one of the best nurseries to visit as they have beautiful gardens and a terrific inventory of roses. Roses are grown on their own roots and are a bit pricey for the size of the pots grown, but they are the only source for some of those roses.

Edmunds Roses This mail order nursery used to be one of my favorite sources for roses. In 2006 it was sold to a larger mail order nursery so it is under new ownership. I am hoping that the new owners keep up the great reputation of the Edmund family that owned it for many year until spring 2006. I ordered some roses in November 2006 for January delivery and arrived at the end of January. Those roses took the longest to come out of dormancy (One finally did in May 2007!!). I have mixed feelings about ordering from this company again.
Jackson & Perkins Roses
I grow many roses grown by J&P although I don't necessarily buy them directly from them. Along with Weeks Roses and Star Roses, J&P roses are among the best in the industry.
John's Miniature Roses This nursery a sister nursery to Heirloom Roses and is also owned by Louise Clements and her late husband John. This nursery is only an internet site that lists all the miniature roses sold by Heirloom Roses. The nursery is located in St Paul, Oregun about 30 miles Southeast of Portland. Both nurseries are a treat to visit as they have beautiful gardens and a terrific inventory of roses. Johnny Becnel Show Roses, Inc.
This is one of a few sources for exhibition roses budded onto Fortuniana rootstock. The roses are custom budded on Fortuniana rootstock and shipped year around. This nursery was owned by the late Johnny Becnel, and it is now managed by rosarian Calvin Boutee who promises to keep up the high standards in rose production that Johnny had. Kimbrew-Walter Roses
Jack Walter has owned this company way before I got interested in roses. He sells other products such as sprayers, pesticides, and gloves besides roses at great prices. He sells a variety of standard bareroot roses as well as a great selection of potted miniature roses. His miniatures roses are the biggest ones that I receivedfrom just about any nursery. Nor'East Miniature Roses Nor'East Miniature Roses was started by the late Harm Saville in 1968 and operated from Gloucester, Massachusetts. John Saville operated the nursery for a few years after the death of his father. In 2003, John sold the nursery to Bill Devor of Greenheart Farms in Arroyo Grande. Since then, I have been lucky to get tours of the Nor'East Nursery grounds at Greenheart Farms by Bill Devor. The experience was marvelous! I highly recommend this nursery. Regan Nursery in Fremont, California This is one of my favorite nurseries in the San Francisco Bay Area. They probably have the largest selection of roses in Northern California. In the winter months they sell bareroot roses from December-February at great savings. The roses are heeled in in bins and they are sold into early March. I usually take a trip in January and pick a few roses that I cannot live with. If you can't do this, you can order your bareroot roses from their website.

Rose Acres This nursery is owned by Muriel and Bill Humenick. They have a limited selection of potted budded roses and a unique selection of hard to find roses. You need to request their current available rose list by email or by calling (530) 626-1722.

Rosemania Roses Rosemania.com has been one of my favorite places for buying many of my rose growing needs from pesticides, gloves, labels, sprayers, and roses. I usually busy all of their new miniature and miniflora rose introductions as soon as they introduce them as they sell out fast. This is the only source of many of their top exhibition mini/miniflora roses. Shipping is included in the price but you must buy their minimum to get free shipping.

Sequoia Nursery Sequoia Nursery in Visalia, California is owned by Ralph Moore, the father of miniature roses. The nursery is operated by Carolyn. Vintage Roses This nursery is owned by rosarian Greg Lowery and is located in Sebastopol, California. Since June 2006, this nursery has become a virtual rose nursery with only online orders. Some of their selections can be bought at Garden Valley Ranch in Petaluma, CA.

I only started buying from Whit Wells in the past two years. He has sent me some of the best and biggest roses and charges me what other nurseries would charge me for smaller plants. Wisconsin Roses This nursery is owned by rosarian Steve Singer. The roses sold by Wisconsin Roses are "Maiden Roses" budded on Rosa multiflora seedlings. This is also my source for Rosa multiflora seedlings which I keep on hand to do custom budding of those roses that I cannot find a commercial source for.
